The Muslim Choral Ensemble is pleased to announce the Inaugural residency of the World Muslim Choral Ensemble (WMCE) will now be held from 17 to 24 July 2022 in Sri Lanka.

We express our thanks for your patience as we continue to navigate through ongoing pandemic situations. Even though these circumstances continue to remain a cause for concern in some countries more than others, we intend to find feasible ways to move forward, and to conduct the event with due consideration to the prevailing health and safety regulations in Sri Lanka as well as globally, ensuring the well-being and security of participating nations.

Shanghai Cooperations Organisation Countries' Youth Choir

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) announces the first SCO Countries’ Youth Choir which convened in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China (June 24 – July 7, 2019). This special brought 60 singers and musicians (ages 19-35) from the 18 countries comprising the SCO for an outstanding educational and collaborative experience. The countries associated with the SCO network include eight member states (Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan), four observer states (Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, Mongolia), and six dialogue partners (Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Armenia, Turkey and Sri Lanka). MCE members Manoj Sanjeewa, Sasanka Rajakasekera, Dinanjana Madushanka and Shammika Mohotti represented MCE at the event.
